Facing south just 100 yards down from St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile (the oldest street in Edinburgh which connects Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyrood House) is number 227. This fist floor luxury apartment in Edinburgh, set in the centre of old Edinburgh where people have lived since ancient Celtic times. Though the façade was built in 1795 the core of the building dates from the 1500's.
Living & Dining Room - At the front there are three windows with bench seats from which you can enjoy the life of the Royal Mile. All around there are cafés, pubs and restaurants, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Office is right across the street. and during the Festival this part of the street is closed to traffic; pipers play, jugglers and fire eaters dance, musicians and street actors draw crowds of adults and children.
Edinburgh Castle and Tattoo - Just a 5 minute stroll up the Royal Mile takes you to Edinburgh Castle, watch the 1 o'clock gun fire, wander round the Castle and grounds and a must see is the Tattoo, at the weekend there are fireworks as well.

All three bedrooms are at the back of the building away from the pedestrianised Royal Mile which is quieter.
