One of the oldest residences in Edinburgh this fascinating Edinburgh Landmark, Trust House is just below Edinburgh Castle on one of the oldest streets in the city. West Bow was once a principal entrance to Edinburgh, a crowded bustling cobbled thoroughfare up which Mary Queen of Scots, Cromwell and James VI would have ridden on horseback.

The lower apartment - Drawing Room of this fine Edinburgh vacation rental overlooks Victoria Street. It has two original 17th century stone fireplaces, one with a gas fired stove. Widescreen TV with digital channels. VCR and DVD player. Sofas, desk , telephone/fax/voicemail. Two sofas, one that converts into a very comfortable double bed. This Drawing Room is reputed to be one of the oldest in Edinburgh still in use in it's original condition.

Now The house is a wonderful Edinburgh vacation rental, however it was built in 1605 and still retains its stone vaulted ceilings and old stone fireplaces. You can enter from the bottom on West Bow on Victoria Street where there are good restaurants and shops including Mellis, the best cheese shop in Scotland, and there is a second entrance right at the top onto Victoria Terrace next to Maxie's excellent Bistro restaurant. Around the corner from West Bow is the Grassmarket, an open square with plenty more pubs and restaurants. There's a thriving nightlife in the streets around about but guests remark that they have a good night's sleep.
